2019 Power Play Hockey Camp

            We are pleased to announce the 2019 Power Play Hockey Camp is coming to the Curtis Menard Sports Complex July 29th- August 1st. There will be 3 sessions for the following birth years:

2008-2010 off ice training 5:00pm-5:30pm, on ice 5:45pm-6:45pm
2005-2007 off ice training 5:45pm-6:30pm, on ice 7:00pm-8:00pm
2001-2004 off ice training 7:00pm-7:45pm, on ice 8:15pm-9:15pm

Your off ice instructor is Gary Howell and your on ice instructors are Jamie Smith, Mike Schachle, Shawn Hull and Harold Henderson

Your Valley Thunder 14AA are the 2018-2019 State Champions and will be respresenting Alaska at Nationals in Indiana!!

Alaska Avalanche

The Alaska Avalanche Hockey Association was established in 1976 and provides great recreational hockey to Valley youth as well as high caliber coaching for players wanting to elevate their game. Besides skating at one of the premier ice rinks in the State, the Avs offers a variety of opportunities for youth ranging from pre-k through high school ages.

The Avalanche offer flat rate monthly billing across all age levels so families can plan ahead without surprises, online bill pay options with no extra fees, and an annual raffle/fund raisers to reduce costs on families.

Please come out and join the most successful hockey program in the Valley! More information about player registration, season dates, etc will be posted soon!

Try Hockey For Free Day Coming to the Menard Sports CenterFebruary 23rd

 

Wasilla, Alaska – Alaska Avalanche Hockey invites children to Menard Sports Centeron Saturday, February 23rdfor a Try Hockey For Free clinic as part of Hockey Week Across America. Starting at 6:30 pm local youth, ages 4 to 9, are encouraged to experience ice hockey for the first time and learn the basic skills in a fun, safe environment.

 

“We look forward to welcoming families to Menard Sports Center to try our great sport of ice hockey” said Nick DeCovich. “Our goal is for these families to enjoy watching their kids learn new skills with big smiles on their faces.” 

 

USA Hockey's Try Hockey program, with the support of the National Hockey League and NHL member clubs, among others, is designed to provide youth hockey associations with a national platform for introducing children to the sport, free of charge. SportsEngine is the presenting sponsor of Try Hockey For Free Day, while Chipotle and Pure Hockeyare also official sponsors of the event. USA Hockey has about 350 locations offering this unique opportunity to kids nationwide.
